The two year graduate program offers three engaging and diverse rotations to give you the experiences you need to set your career up for success.
All graduates rotate into a technical or on-site rotation and a commercial rotation. These core rotations are designed to give you a solid foundation for your professional development and business understanding. Graduates also complete a rotation most aligned to a selected stream; this rotation prepares you for your first role after the program and beyond.
Example Rotation Areas
Operations offers you hands-on experience in explosives delivery for our customers. Working in the field, Operations make our services happen for our customers at each of their sites.
In an Operations rotation you will learn first-hand how we deliver our services through hands-on experience at different sites. With this knowledge you will then have opportunity to lead and contribute to both large and small scale improvement and efficiency projects. You’ll also work with Operations superintendents to manage multiple stakeholders, projects and activities to ultimately deliver safe, efficient blast services for our customers.
Through this rotation, you learn the core of our business.
Experience Drill and Blast with the world’s largest provider of commercial explosives.
Receive training to work with explosives, work on-bench and on projects providing blast design and blast-based services to our customers. You will learn our different markets and geographies, with the opportunity to experience a broad range of mining methods, sites and projects.
In this rotation you will learn Drill and Blast from the best and have real accountability for your own projects.
Commercial gives you experience across multiple areas of our organisation with a business focus.
Rotations can include business development and sales, commercial pricing, marketing or business analysis.
Here you will be able to hone in on your analytical and communication skills critical to your development of professional and leadership capabilities.
Be part of the future of Orica today; with research and development, blast modelling, mining innovation and lab technology experience to contribute to the development of next generation mining and blasting systems.
You will work as part of an ambitious team of industry experts from a variety of technology disciplines, ranging from chemistry to physics, instrumentation and measurement to signal processing to generate and develop game changing technologies.
In this rotation you will learn to work with the customer at the centre of your decision making and activity to maximise the impact of your work. You will also collaborate with a variety of other interesting areas of Orica such as marketing, engineering, operations and technical services and truly feel a part of our global organisation.
Opportunities are plentiful with manufacturing offering you experience in a variety of operational roles or technology roles.
Rotations may include on-site engineering roles with real-time problem solving, development and implementation of projects as well as the potential for design of new sites and products through to research and development technology.
Manufacturing will challenge you technically and develop your professional and interpersonal skills.
Supply chain offers you exposure to end-to-end supply in a complex and geographically challenging network. Key to the success of our business, you can develop your capability in Distribution, Planning, Procurement and Supply Chain Excellence roles.
You will learn while having responsibility and accountability for the activities related to our key inputs and manufactured products. You will drive initiatives that will deliver cost optimisation, differentiation and increased value proposition for our customers and communities.
