Groundwater Cleanup Project 

Orica continues to pump and treat groundwater contaminated with chlorinated hydrocarbons (CHCs) during historic manufacturing, to ensure the protection of human health and the environment.

Stored HCB Waste 

Hexachlorobenzene (HCB) is a priority persistent organic pollutant (POP) and a waste by-product of past manufacturing activities. Orica safely stores the HCB waste and is committed to finding a safe destruction solution.

Mercury Remediation 

Orica is working to safely remediate mercury contaminated soil at the site of the Former ChlorAlkali Plant (FCAP) at the Botany Industrial Park.

Southlands 

Orica is divesting vacant prime industrial land at the Southlands site, Banksmeadow.

Car Park Waste 

In 2012, Orica successfully completed treatment of contaminated soil at the site of the former Car Park Waste Encapsulation (CPWE) using a method known as Directly-heated Thermal Desorption (DTD).
