Community Reference Group

The Kooragang Island Community Reference Group (CRG) was established in 2005 to strengthen the relationship between the plant and the local community. 

The reference group meets regularly and provides a forum for ongoing and open communication between Orica and our closest neighbours. We value working alongside the community to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship based on trust and transparency. 

Membership includes residents from Stockton, Fern Bay, Mayfield, and Carrington, Newcastle City Council, local environmental groups, local industry and sensitive groups such as schools and residential facilities.
