Community Investment Program
Orica Kooragang Island is committed to playing an active part in our community supporting initiatives which bring benefit to the community.
The Orica Kooragang Island Community Investment Program aims to invest in causes, events and programs which reflect our vision and values.
Funds, with a maximum value of $10,000 per project, will be available twice annually on an application basis for projects, activities or events which meet one or more of the following objectives:
- environment and sustainability
- education and lifelong learning
- strong communities
Applications will be reviewed by the Orica Kooragang Island Community Investment Program assessment panel three Orica employees and three representatives from the community nominated by Orica Kooragang Island.

Annual Application Schedule
Round 1, 2023 applications will open on 1 March 2023 and close on 31 March 2023.
Round 2, 2023 applications will open on 1 September 2023 and close on 30 September 2023.

Sponsorship
Orica Kooragang Island proudly invests in a number of community activities and events which reflect and support our vision and values.
In 2018 our corporate sponsorships have included:

Applications for sponsorship must be made in writing and are assessed quarterly in January, April, July and October. Written applications must be received by the 15th of the assessment month to be considered in that quarter's round. If received after the 15th it will not be assessed until the following quarter. Community Investments are focussed in the Newcastle LGA, Fern Bay and Fullerton Cove.
