Environment & Safety
Orica Yarwun is committed to ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with Orica's Safety and Health, Environment and Community Policies, summarised in our safety and health, environment, and community (SHEC) vision of 'No Accidents Today' and 'Value People and the Environment.'
In meeting this SHEC vision we aim to manage environmental risks and minimise the impacts that our activities have on the community and the environment.
Comprehensive monitoring is undertaken to ensure that the site operates in accordance with regulatory requirements. Key regulatory requirements are detailed in the site's development permit, administered by the QLD Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP), and include continuous and periodic monitoring of water and air emissions.
Improvement projects are regularly undertaken at the site to ensure that environmental performance meets or exceeds the standards expected by the community, regulatory bodies and Orica.
