In 2021, we lodged preliminary plans with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to build a new 30,000-tonne ammonia tank. Improved ammonia storage capacity would provide the site with strategic flexibility for future operations, ensuring it remains competitive. In particular, a new tank would:
• give our business the capability to respond quickly to changing market conditions
• increase options for scheduling maintenance activities
• allow the site to alternate between manufacturing ammonia or importing it.
An environmental assessment for the tank proposal, which includes a quantitative hazard and risk assessment, is currently being developed.
