We engage with stakeholders around each of our major production facilities to gain insights into the issues that matter to them and to better understand their expectations. We are open and honest with our communities, and develop tailored community partnership programs that seek to discover and create change that’s important to them. Key to Orica's ongoing commitment to supporting the Brownsburg community is OriCare - a non-profit organization that was founded to help improve the lives of the community’s youth.
For 2017, the Brownsburg location sponsored several community groups and organizations including the social community pediatrics hospital and local elementary school lunch programs. In June, the Bouchard Elementary school in Brownsburg inaugurated their soccer field and school playground, this was funded and made possible because of the OriCare program and multiple stakeholders in the community. In September, the Argenteuil museum inaugurated the Orica historical exhibition hall “Time for History” project in honour of its predecessors and past, present and future Brownsburg employees. The project was funded by Orica and a variety of community stakeholders.
