Orica congratulates Mining’s Woman of the Year
28 Nov 2014
The 11th Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards were recently held in Sydney, recognising individuals and organisations delivering excellence and innovation across the Australian mining industry. Orica has proudly sponsored Mining's Woman of the Year Award over the past four years, committed to recognising and rewarding technology and innovation in mining.
Kym Clark from She’s Empowered was announced the 2014 Winner of Mining's Woman of the Year Award. Kym, an ex-coalmine accountant with Anglo American, discovered a gap in the market around female friendly work wear.
“I couldn’t believe the lack of maternity options for women in the resources sector.” Clark stated, and set about developing the She’s Empowered range of high-vis work wear designed specifically for women, ensuring comfort and delivering a positive change for women across the mining industry.
Orica’s General Manager Talent & Training, Nadine Castle, said Orica was delighted to sponsor the annual award once again.
“Mining’s Woman of the Year award is a great platform for industry recognition directly aligned with Orica’s diversity strategy, focusing on gender and international diversity. Well done Kym on such an innovative and inclusive customer solution.”
Congratulations Kym Clark from She’s Empowered – Winner of 2014 Mining’s Woman of the Year Award.
