Sub Level Caves

Pre-charge blast holes with WebGen™ for improved safety and increased cycle time.

Pre-charging blast holes with WebGenTM offers a significantly safer solution at Sub Level Cave (SLC) operations, reducing exposure of personnel at the brow and providing the opportunity to move more material per shift lowering overall cost of production per tonne.

Without the constraints imposed by physical connections, wireless blasting can enable improvements in operator safety and mine productivity when pre-charging blast holes. Wireless blasting neutralises issues such as back-break, hole dislocation and brow damage – all of which can damage or cut-off lead wires. Find out more in this SLC animation here.

“We’ve done some work recently with Orica around WebGen 100 and we’ve seen a sensational result.” Rob Cunningham, Mining Operations Manager, Northparkes shares his experience with WebGen™ here

Improved flow & recovery This link will open in a new window

Reliable initiation produces more uniform fragmentation and enables improved draw extraction to plan, thus improves flow and recovery.

Reduced hole dislocation or loss This link will open in a new window

Significantly reduce loss and underperforming holes caused by lead damage/dislocation while eliminating rework.

Safe pre-charging This link will open in a new window

Eliminate the need to work near rill or the brow and reduce the impact of brow loss.
