Vinyl chloride (VC)

Vinyl chloride (VC)

Definition

Also known as chloroethene and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), it is an intermediate compound manufactured in the former vinyls plant at the BIP that was reacted to make polyvinylchloride (PVC). VC can also be formed in the aquifer by the degradation of PCE and TCE.
