Statement on incident at Yarwun

05 Dec 2019

UPDATE 10 December: Last week’s incident involving a leak of Hydrochloric Acid at our Yarwun Site has been successfully resolved. The small number of workers who went to hospital were all discharged in good health. All the acid was safely removed and the site has resumed normal operation.

We can confirm that a leak of hydrochloric acid occurred within a bund at our Yarwun Site late this morning.  The site activated its emergency response and all safety protocols have been followed.

A small number of workers have been sent to the local hospital for monitoring. We will keep stakeholders informed.
