Orica (ASX: ORI) today announced updates to the Executive Committee.
Chief Financial Officer
Chief Financial Officer, Kim Kerr has decided to leave Orica and James Crough has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer, effective 3 June 2024.
James joined Orica in May 2019 as Vice President of Finance, Australia Pacific and Asia. Subsequently, he was Interim Group Executive and President - Australia Pacific and Asia and was appointed as Group Executive and President - North America in October 2021. Before joining Orica, James held senior financial and executive roles with Incitec Pivot Ltd, including Chief Financial Officer and Interim President of Incitec Pivot Fertilisers. James has over 20 years of experience in executive finance roles across Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States, and brings strong financial and commodity experience to the role, having significantly grown the Orica North America business over the past two and a half years. James is a Fellow of CPA Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Deakin University.
Kim will be available until 1 August 2024 to support an orderly transition. We thank Kim for her contributions to Orica over her tenure and wish her the very best in her future endeavours.
President - North America
John Cooper has been appointed to the Executive Committee as President - North America, effective 3 June 2024. John joined Orica in March 2019 and has held senior roles across strategy, marketing and technology before his appointment to Vice President of Australia Pacific Coal in April 2021. John has over 15 years of experience across the mining and digital sectors, having held senior global leadership roles and leadership roles across Africa, Asia, Australia Pacific and North America.
President - Specialty Mining Chemicals
Andrew Stewart has been appointed to the new role of President - Specialty Mining Chemicals, effective 3 June 2024. Andrew will be responsible for the integration of Cyanco, as well as the growth of our existing specialty mining chemicals business. Andrew was previously Orica's Chief Development and Sustainability Officer. Andrew has over 20 years of international experience in the energy, chemicals and infrastructure sectors, having held several Group Executive roles at Wood PLC and operational accountability for business performance in Asia, Australia Pacific, Latin America and North America.
President - Australia Pacific and Sustainability
Germán Morales’ role has been expanded to President - Australia Pacific and Sustainability, effective 3 June 2024. In this expanded role, Germán will be responsible for sustainability, corporate affairs and property in addition to the Australia Pacific region.
