Orica Digital Solutions celebrates 10 years of Geotechnical Specialist Services - safeguarding mines, people and communities

Melbourne, Australia – Orica (ASX: ORI) Digital Solutions’ Geotechnical Specialist Services (GSS) celebrates a decade of innovation, transforming mine safety through advanced monitoring technologies, predictive analytics, and AI-driven insights – setting the global benchmark for smarter, safer mining.
Launched on 3 December 2015 with aremote monitoring trial of two GroundProbe Slope Stability Radars (SSR) at a gold mine in Western Australia, GSS began as a small-scale initiative.What began as a small trial quickly scaled into a complete monitoring contract, and by its fifth year, GSS was supporting more than 100 radars and had detected over 1,000 slope failures.
Today, GSS operates 24/7 across 185 mine sites in 19 countries, monitoring more than 250 sensors and detecting over 10,206 slope failures to date. With 171 engineers and operators working from three global monitoring centres in Balikpapan, Santiago and Belo Horizonte, GSS has grown into the world’s most trusted geotechnical monitoring service. Together with Geosolutions’ suite of hardware and software, GSS helps safeguard people, communities and critical mining assets around the clock.
